It seems to me that Hip Hop has grown up in terms of garment construction and trend direction so I quite enjoyed their collection. The models walked slowly to the end of a fan-blown runway, taking their time to pose and showcase the dresses. We were delighted with metallics, romantic prints (one of my favorites was a European architecture print maxi) and spidery sheer slips. Velvet, chiffon, buttery silks and raw satin ruled the runway while well-placed feathers and faux fur added touches of texture. As always, you can find more photos on Facebook.

Hungry yet, yo? These cake dress creations were shown at the V&A Waterfront on the day of the royal wedding as a campaign for Sasko Flour. The Cake Couture campaign involved life-size, edible designer dresses for onlookers to check out and then later dig into, keeping in line with Sasko Flour’s slogan, share the goodness.

Three dresses were designed by Marisha Eygelaar, Chota Sulleman and Nicole Hannah while chefs Alfred Henry, Wade van der Merwe and Peter Gyorgyicsek whipped up the finished product.
