The Magnum Mile
2/21/2014Last Saturday, I checked out the Magnum Mile presented by UCT Rag with some of my fashion pals. The theme was Great Gatsby and the crowd did not disappoint with dapper gentlemen and flappers abound. It was a beautiful day to be at the races so we sipped on delicious Magnum cocktails and hung out by the mist fans (those things are seriously amazing, I want one) before making the rounds to nominate and judge best dressed. I was impressed. I used to be under the impression that Jozi girls and guys really bring it but I think Cape Town has something special going on. I wore flats which I never do, I just thought, grass + Gatsby = 20s ballet flats. You can see how hilariously short I really am ;)
I'm quite the gambler but I never bet on the horses, I must do that next year! Anyway, we had a plethora of fantastic styles to choose from but we ultimately decided on the above Gatsby and Daisy as our winners. They received a cash prize while the runners up walked away with cute Magnum novelty aprons. Thanks to Kirsti Lyall PR and UCT Rag for the awesome day, see you next year!
