Storyboard for another 3rd year

This week I'm off from college before our last term. Last week our final storyboard assignment was to design an outfit for a fellow classmate and I designed for my girl Purusha (seen above on the left) who's fond of grey tones and sequins. This was a really fun storyboard because I love Photoshop. Purusha brought her cute chihuahua to college on Friday for the last day and he was playing with rolls of thread. Toffee has a penchant for walking on patterns with dirty paws.

There is a light that never goes out

My jacket is finished and I got some good news, we're only making the other one next year and I'm almost finished that one's pattern. That means I have a lot more time to focus on my last art assignment, the proposed final collection for my last year. I'm also going to be making a headpiece for a textiles mark which is quite a fun brief.

Hopefully my jacket makes the grade, my buttonholes and I seldom get along which is quite hilarious because I have an automatic buttonhole feature on my machine and I still manage to screw it up somehow! Haha, between the fabric being too thick, my measurement being too small (this calls for an intense button squeeze into the small buttonhole) and finally I massacre the buttonholes every time I unpick the middle. And I've had practice, I just don't have any patience for buttons because they're always one of the last things standing between me and a finished garment.

Right now I'm trying to rest and get better so I can tackle my huge art project, here are the first pencil figures before rendering, I still religiously use the 9 heads method to elongate the legs, then I'm almost finished my croquis book.

Intermission

I'm still alive, just underneath a pile of work right now! I don't actually know how I'm getting things done so fast, must be the motivation of overseas shopping, just got a great deal on flights, two way CT to JHB to JFK was so reasonable! All the more to save for shopping. I think it might have to do with the fact that I'm flying on December 31st but I'm keen! I'd love to spend a New Years on a flight, probably have like 5 different New Years because of the time zones so that can up the party quota, haha. Here are some snippets of my art assignments; storyboard figures, self portrait and finally getting my fold on for the packaging assignment. Almost finished, off to work a packaging trendbook! Printing tonight of course x
