I've been having so much fun editing all of my Instagram photos with VSCO that I thought, instead of always lugging a camera around, why not edit some event pics with that app and share the snaps on my blog? I'm all about enjoying what I do these days so getting creative and having fun is the name of the game. 

On Thursday 23 March, I put on my favourite leather jacket and headed to the launch of the re-designed Diesel store at the V&A Waterfront. I've always been a fan of Diesel because their jeans, leather jackets and shoes are my vibe. I felt like I was with my people when I overheard someone say "It's an...interesting crowd." Hell yes it was! Gareth Doye was finishing up some tattoos on his clients in one corner while Edge For Men had set up a one-chair barber shop in the other - and between all of  the guests' different bright hair colours on display, every shade of the rainbow was accounted for. Whiskey, wine and a well-frequented photobooth made for a killer evening and chatting with media friends is always a pleasure.

Charming young South African jewellery designer, Henriette Botha, unveiled her new fall collection this week. Instead of opting for the darker colours so associated with fall, her collection SOUTH brings us just the right amount of bright that we crave when the days are grey. Inspired by Brazilian prints, Mexican attitude and Sicilian vibrance, this mix of cultural influences was evident in her use of textures and juxtaposition. Henriette's knotting, beadwork, chains and tassels combine to create bold statement accessories but she didn't forget about the gals who love their delicate bracelets and earrings. It's been a while since I've gone to an event as I've been focusing on other work but last week I did attend the Foschini Design Awards as I'm always excited to see what young designers are up to, as well as to support FEDISA and their students. This year the competing ranges were inspired by the theme, 'Bauhaus to Boho' and we got to check out the top 6 capsule collections. Zandalee Broodryk from Cape Town College of Fashion Design won third place, second went to Emily Hellens of FEDISA and first place was awarded to Frances Pauls who's also from CTCFD.

The winners will have their collections sold at Foschini flagship stores and they also get an internship at TFG Design, a R5000 Foschini gift card, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, MTN airtime and an industrial sewing machine sponsored by CTFC. On Saturday, The Little Black Book treated a few of us to a look at the current Hugo Boss collection followed by a brunch at my favorite macaroon haunt, Myatt, where they gave out prizes to lucky ladies. I was trying to send out telepathic vibes to the Hugo Boss bag, insisting I would give it the best home an accessory could ever wish for. Unfortunately the tote had other ideas but the goodie bag we left with was an adequate consolation *eats ten chocolates while typing*. My favorite looks were the navy dress and the beautiful white blouse with the black button stand. Effortless chic, I tell you! Honestly though, I wouldn't mind taking everything in the Hugo Boss store home. You ain't seen the last of me yet, handbag.

Last week Woolworths presented the Autumn/Winter 2014 collections for their Witchery, Mimco, Country Road and Trenery brands. The latter duo have proved that they provide plenty key-pieces and style staples for the SA woman but now Woolworths will exclusively offer Australian brands Witchery and Mimco from March 2014. 

Witchery offers trendy apparel with an edge while Mimco has us covered for quirky and eclectic accessories. I'm so excited about everything hitting our shores, and Witchery's show have especially made me want to invest in a whole new wardrobe. After laying my eyes on some of the coats and jackets, I was almost sad about summer! Luckily by the time the collections arrive in-store, my post-Christmas bank balance will be a thing of the past. Respect to Woolworths for giving us the music from the fashion show when we left; I never have time to Shazam songs while I'm snapping away! I'll see you at the shops next year, fashionistas x
