Last week Matthew and I went to the J&B Met. The atmosphere was fabulous with fun fashion and beautiful weather. Taking and posing for photos are a given and compliments are passed around like candy. It's so exciting to see Cape Town all dressed up and under huge headwear, it makes you long for the days when dressing up was a must.

I felt like a princess in my Matthew Britten gown, he is such an amazing designer who really perfects pieces for his clients. If you're looking for something beautifully custom made, you can't be in better hands. I seem to have a curse with falling in my nude shoes around Matthew! Once again, he helped me up and put the heels back on so at least I got to feel even more like Cinderella. Now I know a Matthew Britten dress is fall-proof, the invisible zip held up perfectly after the tumble which is quite impressive. We got into the first round of Most Elegant couple. Congratulations to FEDISA, their students and alumni really did them proud which speaks volumes about their degree program. The winning couple were in designs by FEDISA student, Carla Gordon.

The Grand West tent was lovely with a crushed velvet ceiling and Liberace theme; it was a real decadent treat. The waitresses were so friendly, bringing us cocktails while we watched the huge screen documenting all the action. The balcony was decked out in beautiful brocade furniture which Matt and I matched nicely with our Russian monarch inspired outfits. Bokang Montjane - Miss South Africa, was hanging out in our tent and she is such a sweetheart! She's so beautiful and has a great sense of humour, I spoke to her a bit and I really admire her grace so I hope she goes far in the upcoming international pageants.

Special thanks to Grand West for the tickets, see you there next year!
