Womanity

7/23/2010

Yesterday I went to the launch for the new Thierry Mugler fragrance Womanity. I've always been a fan of Mugler, his work is so avant-garde and his perfumes are enrapturing, the kind you always get asked about whenever you wear them. Womanity is something to be excited about, the scent took four years to develop and was made using molecular extraction which really brings the aroma to life.

Womanity is a sweet and savory mixture with the enchanting notes of fig, caviar and fig tree wood. The notes combine effortlessly to present a luxurious olfactory experience. Some of the best combinations in beauty and fashion come from paradoxes and Womanity captures the essence of the complexities of a woman; strong yet delicate, sweet but sexy.

We were given a presentation and I found it interesting to smell the notes separately and then see how well they mixed together in the final fragrance. We were each given a silver mask that parallels the one on the bottle and an 80ml Eau de Parfum. The bottle is gorgeous, I love how the metal and chain detail is teamed with the sophisticated pink colour of the perfume. I got to mingle with some fellow fashionistas, I met with Mandy Roff from the Clarins group as well as Jackie Burger, the editor of Elle South Africa.

Womanity is on counters on the 20th of September so be sure to experience this decadent scent for yourself. It is brought in under the Clarins fragrance group and all Thierry Mugler fragrances are refillable for your convenience.
