Jet Winter 2014

Last week I was in Joburg with the Cape Town fashion pack for the Jet Winter launch. We all enjoyed the show and I loved some of the scarves, jackets and blouses on display, not to mention that cute ushanka hat and glove combo I would wear tomorrow. With monochrome items, collegiate pieces, casual denim, a dash of pretty lingerie and lots of layering, Jet gave us affordable garments to face the upcoming chill, shown on one of South Africa's last summer days.

I know a lot of us are looking forward to the cold weather, I used to be terrible at layering but I think I'm getting better ;) See anything you like? I'm quite partial to the printed pants ensemble in the first photo - that's something I need to start experimenting with, prints! Wallet-friendly street wear is nothing to sniff at and unlike a few other brands' recognizable items, these key pieces will be able to work in a wardrobe for seasons to come, especially the monochrome ones. Also, I gotta say, some of the men's suits were awesome. Have a stylish winter everyone x

JT One Pop Up Shop

This summer JT One have opened a fantastic Pop Up Shop at the V & A Waterfront. I shopped up a storm on the launch night last week while hanging with all the usual hotties. We munched cake pops and puffs of candyfloss before raiding the photobooth for our #JTOne #BestieSelfies, it was such a charming girls night.

The shop is offering awesome 2 for 1 and 3 for 2 deals on bras and underwear so this won't be my first stop during the 3 months the store will be open. It's so afforadable, I can't even! They're also stocked up on cute sleepwear and poofy slippers just in time for Christmas so grab your bestie and check out the store. Sweet dreams are made of this!

After Eden

After Eden, Elle Macpherson Intimates and Maidenform

What do we have here?! After Eden, Elle Macpherson Intimates and Maidenform showed us their new collections, they're winter collections but I think you'll find them too pretty to be hidden under that many layers. After Eden's Lounge & Travel are perfect for upgrading your pajamas. I need to do that because my pjs have poodles and the Eiffel Tower on them. No surprise that I'm single! Hahaha. This collection is perfect for me because I would seriously run errands in these. Need to go get a hot dog from the BP but you're already in bed? I hear you, story my life. Finally, a solution appears.

Triumph with You. Amplified.

Triumph has given itself a complete makeover with their brand new Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I love Triumph, it's one of the few underwear brands that actually fits me. Sometimes when I'm shopping, it seems like bras are made for naturally perfect or surgically-sculpted Cs which would be awesome, if I had them! Luckily I get to be an A+ Firecracker with Triumph's Maximizer and for my larger cup size sisters, become a Bombshell – delight in swirling embroidery, cute bows and fancy straps – part of a collection of flattering lingerie styles designed to make customers feel confidently sexy.

With the Triumph 2012 Spring/Summer collection, women can step out in sophisticated Everyday essentials to transform into a Live Wire with double the pleasure and value in co-ordinating twin packs offering supreme function, fit and look. Triumph also celebrates confident High Fliers this season with their latest in innovative shapewear, offering natural contour enhancement with maximum support and control for smoothing and slimming.

The Triumph woman for the 21st century is freed of inhibitions, bursting with confidence and living in another dimension. There is nothing sexier than a woman who dares to be herself.

So, who are you, a Firecracker, Live Wire, Bombshell or High Flier? Check out www.triumph.com/za for more information.

La Senza Launch

2 weeks ago I found an old corset in the back of my closet and went to the La Senza launch - the one where the lady came up to me with a measuring tape and a glint in her eye. While there, I got to meet the kick ass Nicci St. Bruce of Vamp Clothing and pick up some gifts for my cousins and I. The assistants were lovely, the champagne was addictive and the over-the-shoulder boulder holders didn't disappoint. More photos can be found on my Facebook page.

Gimme an A

So, let's talk bra size. At La Senza a lady insisted that I get my bra fit professionally. I was kind of on the fence about it because once upon a time, I did get measured and that assistant must have been on crack because she gave me a letter that's reserved for my Afrikaans exam results....and Afrikaans isn't my forte.

Some random Oprah episode is burned into my brain where the topic was finding your correct bra size and I kind of thought, puh-lease I'm an A and that's it - nothing to see here! But dammit whad'ya know, Oprah and La Senza lady were right. Getting the proper size really does wonders that I thought were only reserved for the lucky ladies with ample bosoms. I've always had a gaping problem because I have a small chest so I just assumed they didn't make push-ups that fit A-cups nicely. Turns out I had my back measurements wrong, I'm a 32A not 34/36 like I was wearing. It's the smallest size but when I went out wearing my complimentary bra my friends were like "Ooh girl?". I love being flat-chested (I never used to but that's another story) but it was fun to look like a B for a change.

So thanks La Senza (and Oprah?)!

La Senza lowers prices and ups the pretty

Spring is just 2 weeks away already as 2011 is flying by. It's time for new beginnings, shedding some of the Winter layers and maybe treating yourself to some new undergarments to put that spring into your step. I once heard that wearing sexy matching underwear gives a girl a kind of empowering secret and as of August lingeristas can look forward to pretty La Senza underthings for much less. The global lingerie brand which has been delighting shoppers across South Africa for 6 years has revealed the news about the new pricing along with a youthful, sassy and sexy seasonal collection. La Senza also has an innovative new shopper loyalty program up its sleepwear sleeve and will soon be making those details available.

For all of the updated information and discussion about La Senza, visit www.lasenza.co.za find them on facebook or follow them on Twitter.
