Winter beauty essentials
7/09/2013I might love tough outfits but I'm super girly when it comes to a great beauty product! I thought I'd share which ones I'm loving right now.
Face: Lush's 9 to 5 cleanser is perfect for anyone who isn't into cold splashes in the morning - just wipe dirt off with a cotton pad. I like to hydrate my skin a lot during winter so I use a serum by Chanel as well as a rich moisturiser, right now I'm using Lush's Celestial. I'll usually use a BB cream for coverage but when I get super pale I switch to Dainty Doll foundation as it's made for lighter skin tones, love it! Remember to ditch bronzer and substitute with a rosy blush for some colour. Keep skin dewy with a highlighter like Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl and fix imperfections like a Photoshopper with YSL's Touche Eclat.
Eyes: I used to be addicted to buying eyeshadows but all a girl needs is a good palette, Naked 2 is perfect for day and night looks. I use NYX's Super Fat Marker on my top lid for definition instead of an eyeliner pencil because it lasts longer and makes more of an impact. NYX's Push-up Bra for Eyebrows is one of my new favorite products. A strong brow can really pull your look together. I find that any Maybelline mascara gives long, lush lashes and some glitter liquid eyeliner cheers me up for cold nights out.
Extras: Every girl I talk to praises Moroccan oil because it really is amazing! It smells heavenly and makes my hair look so healthy - I can always see the difference when I skip it. I usually just apply some to the bottom half of my locks and let my hair air-dry, easy! Switch up your fragrance for the colder months, it's fun to associate different scents with different times. Next summer I'll instantly recall cosy winter nights with a spritz of Dior's Pure Poison. We all know how dry lips can get but Lush's edible Bubblegum Lip Scrub banishes chapped lips and smells delicious. Since I play up my eyes more, I just use a Lip Smacker from Clicks - I got a whole bunch that smell like different sodas and don't repel kisses like sticky lip gloss does, haha! Johnson and Johnson Wipes are super convenient as always. Lastly, I like to have a lot of fun with my nails since my toes will be hiding in boots. Nail art and cheap decals put a smile on my face when the sun is nowhere to be found, hunt them down at Clicks or find a great manicurist.
All that I'm missing is a really good exfoliator for the face so any advice would be appreciated! What are your cosmetic must-haves?
