Thoki Tafeni seemed to be the crowd favorite by far, her collection was an all-white homage to Frieda Kahlo's “The Broken Column”. Strong and clean with an inspired theme.
I was absolutely delighted with Chelsey Wilson's cute pastel collection that hearkened back to childhood with details like heart cut-outs and fabricated bunnies.
Mia Kriek put a lot of work into creating a cohesive range, her fabric choices were interesting, her construction techniques were visible and yesterday we saw a female warrior trend emerging from young designers as a whole. From the use of the Suckerpunch soundtrack to at least 3 collections where I could envision women stepping up to battle. So far, girls run the world this year at Cape Town Fashion Week.
