Positive Heroes Fashion Show

11/02/2010

I had a great time at the Positive Heroes event on Thursday, I ran into some fashion favorites which is always fun. The venue was gorgeous, I have to say that the Cape Town Train Station is looking mighty fine. The fashion show was enjoyable, most designers showed 3 pieces, my favorite was Elbeth Gillis. On the menswear side, Carducci made me think of Scott Disick vs. Chuck Bass which I'm into. I love it when guys play with fashion, my feeling is; rather be overdressed than underdressed.Speaking of men's fashion, this one guy at the event was wearing amazing gothic boots that made me think of Camden street. No sooner was I checking out his footwear when he turned around and told me that my tacky as hell Balenciaga knockoff Lego shoes were 'sex', a man after my own insane shoe-loving heart. I love wearing statement shoes with LBDs. I forgot to take a photo, must remember next time, here's a shot of the shoes courtesy of Cape Town Girl.

Everyone loved this Hendrik Vermeulen showstopper. The model whipped off her elegant long skirt to reveal this ruffled asymmetric hemline. Reminds me of Balmain, I liked it.

Sexy piece by Elbeth Gillis. I am just head over heels for ostrich feathers ♥

More glamour from Elbeth Gillis. Her pieces work well on the runway. Great movement.

These are the Positive Heroes. 100% of the proceeds made on Thursday will go to this inspiring non-profit organisation. The goal of Positives Heroes is to reduce fear and misinformation surrounding HIV and to create an atmosphere of hope and inspiration. I was very grateful to be able to attend the event. Since I was invited as media, I donated to them through their website using revenue generated from my blog this year. Remember to get your tickets next year if you weren't able to join this time around. For more information on how to support this worthy cause go to www.positiveheroes.org.za.
